VOLUNTEERS Connect with the community and make a difference in the lives of real people. You can help in a variety of ways, which could include fundraising efforts, program assistance, event support, and donation processing. As a volunteer, your role will fluctuate based on the needs of the agency and your individual goals for professional or personal development. Volunteer AdvocateS The medical advocate position is for a committed volunteer who wishes to work directly with survivors of sexual violence. You will advocate for survivors at the hospital by providing emotional support, answering questions, and explaining legal rights and options. Those who wish to volunteer as a medical advocate must complete a sexual assault crisis intervention training and be able to commit to at least two on-call shifts a month. Becoming a sexual assault advocate will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to support people in crisis, especially survivors. The training provided meets the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault standards and is recognized across the state of Illinois. This is an opportunity for substantial growth. Individuals who are interested in volunteering at Call For Help can expect to go through the following process: 1. Submit an application below for the position you are interested in. 2. The volunteer recruiter will contact you to set up an interview. 3. A background screening and confidentiality agreement must be completed. 4.
