Sexual Assault Victims’ Care Unit

The Sexual Assault Program provides a full array of services for adult and child victims of sexual assault/abuse and their significant others.  Services include: 24-hour hotline and crisis intervention, short and long term counseling for adults and children, training for professionals, and public education for the community.  A volunteer advocate will accompany victims and significant others to appointments with law enforcement, and/or criminal justice personnel.  The Sexual Assault Victims’ Care Unit serves 4 counties through four local offices.  Volunteers and Practicum Students will receive 40 hours of training pertaining to Sexual Assault and Sexual Abuse.

The Transitional Living Center

The program was developed to provide and assist homeless young women between 16 and 21 years of age in their pursuit to become independent and self-sufficient citizens in the community.  The young women can maintain a residence in this homelike atmosphere for 18 to 24 months while pursuing an education or job training skills.  While residents of the shelter, the women will be afforded life skills training through classes provided by staff, community programs, Volunteers, and Practicum Students.
