The 24-hour hotline is staffed by professional Crisis Workers, Practicum Students, and Volunteers who have completed a 40-hour training program which includes classes on suicide, crisis intervention, mental disorders, sexual assault, AIDS, and community referrals. Volunteers and Practicum Students will receive sufficient training to provide the necessary skills in listening and values clarification to assist the caller with their crisis and refer them to the appropriate agency or program for further assistance. For further information about volunteer opportunities, contact Pearl Campbell, Suicide and Crisis Supervisor at (618) 397-0968 or by e-mail at pcambell@callforhelpinc.org.
Information and Referral The Information and Referral Program links people with the appropriate organizations to help with housing, finances, medications, food, clothing or other special services.
