Crisis Counseling Services

Established 1990

Provide brief solution focused counseling for individuals experiencing a crisis, depressive symptoms, anxiety, bereavement, and interpersonal issues.  Services will offer remediation to the situational stressor by educating the consumer on effective coping skills to decrease the level of lethality.  Furthermore, a Survivors of Suicide (S.O.S.) after-care support group is offered monthly for surviving family members who have experienced a loss by suicide.  Lastly, the counselor will respond to community requests for crisis intervention training.  Length of service is an average of up to eight (8) sessions.  Individuals may either walk-in or are referred from physicians, Call For Help, Inc. Suicide and Crisis Hotline, school systems, and local community mental health agencies.

Suicide & Crisis Intervention Hotline

Established 1970

Suicide and Crisis Intervention Counseling Hotline is available twenty-four (24) hours a day for callers in crisis residing in the St. Clair County surrounding area, as well as for those call the National Hopeline (1-800-Suicide).  Services offered include supportive/empathic listening, as well as linkage to community resources that can assist in de-escalating the crisis at hand.  Short-term counseling is available to those in a crisis or suicidal through our Crisis Counseling Services.  Individual and group counseling is provided for those who have lost a friend or family member to suicide.  Workshops and presentations are offered to the community on topics of crisis and suicide.  Accredited by the American Association of Suicidology (A.A.S.) and Council on Accreditation (C.O.A.)
