Community Stabilization Program for Homeless Mentally Ill

Through this residential program, people with mental illness who have become homeless receive help to stabilize their lives and return to the community. While residing at the Community Stabilization program, participants attend group sessions where they work to improve self-esteem, social competence, symptom management and more. They also receive help with developing life skills. The program helps them locate appropriate housing and support resources to transition back to the community.
Success Story
Sarah (not actual name), age 27, has a long history of bipolar disorder, a serious mental illness. She was irritable, agitated and defiant when she came to the Call for Help Community Support Program. Though she was difficult, the Call for Help staff never gave up on her and worked with her through medication management and counseling. By the third month, her agitation had subsided; she then moved to an apartment and was reunited with one of her children.
